As the size of your Model increases, it becomes more difficult to see the entire model. If you View Used Pages the model is too small. If you View Actual Size you can only see a fraction of your model. apiMAX viewing tools help you to remedy this problem.

Panning

Panning the view of a model can be done by using the scroll bars or the Pan tool. Panning lets you quickly move from one part of your model to another.

• The Pan tool is activated by pointing to an empty area of the model and pressing and holding the left mouse button.
• The Pan cursor is shown.
• With the left mouse down, move the cursor to pan. Release the left mouse button to stop panning.  

The Aerial View

The Aerial View window shows the current model. The model's used pages are fit in the window. A yellow rectangle shows the current Model View.

• Press on View | Aerial View or click the Aerial View button to show or hide the window.
• Change the current model view by pointing to the yellow rectangle showing the current Model View.
• The cursor will change to a 4-Way arrow. Click and hold the left mouse button, drag the yellow rectangle to a new location and release the left mouse button.

View Tools

The ViewToolbar and View Menu contain tools for changing the view of a model. Tools are available for zooming in and out, toggling the grid and refreshing (repainting) the model window.

Working with Bookmarks

Bookmarks allow you to save various views of the model. Bookmarks are particularly useful for large models as they allow you to quickly jump from one view of the model to another. Bookmarks are constructed by bookmarking items. Not all items can be bookmarked. All equipment items and sequence items can be bookmarked. When an item is bookmarked the current view of the model is saved with the bookmarked item and the item displays the bookmark indicator .

• Bookmark an item by double clicking the item to show the item's properties.
• Click the General tab.
• Check the Bookmark check box. The current view of the model is saved.
• Remove a bookmark by double clicking the bookmarked item to show the item's properties.
• Click the General tab. Uncheck the Bookmark check box.
• Change bookmarks by clicking Edit | Bookmarks or clicking the Bookmarks button on the View Toolbar.
• The Bookmark dialog is shown. All Bookmarks are listed. Bookmarks can be removed, reordered, updated and selected.
